Just act natural!

So, for christmas I got a new video camera. A Panasonic. Its very cute. So I have gone a little crazy with it. My roommates hate me. Well anyway, once a month at my house we have accoustic Tuesday where people come and play their instruments (mostly guitars) and sing covers or original songs. Its really fun. Well, since I had my camera I decided to film everyone who performed. Also, my roommate who runs the show said that this was going to be the last one ever (but not really because she loves it too much, its just a break). So as I was filming the performers and everyone watching, it hit me. I should make a documentary about accoustic Tuesday. The Last Accoustic Tuesday. Now I have never made a movie before so I really have no idea what I'm doing. Luckily I have a friend who does make movies so he helps me. Right now I am still in the gathering footage stage. I need to get more interviews which means coming up with questions which is not my strong point. Also, I don't think people take me seriously including me. So that makes it hard. Its something I really want to follow through on. Its been on the shelf for a couple of weeks now but I still think about it a lot. I'm just stuck on the questions. So maybe you all can help me. You can be my focus group. If this sounds interesting to you what would you like to know about it? Right now I just have footage of the last night with all the performers, I interviewed audience members and performers.

You know I thought the filming part would be the funnest but it is really hard to think about and figure out the shots and composition of the shots and I have don't really know the story line yet. I'm really looking forward to editing it all together. That won't be for a while. Well, I'm looking forward to your responses.

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Okay, so even though I am alone again on this holiday, I have a small amount of hope left that someday I won't be. Here is a cute image I found. Actually I won't be alone. I have a date with two guys....Ben and Jerry. I think I will be satisfied.

Happy Valentine's Day everybody!!!

Show some originality...please!

Okay, this may be a bit of a silly subject but I feel like I need to get it off my chest. Also, because I couldn't think of anything else to blog about so it's meant to be. Now several family members (some of which who read this blog) have already heard me get this off my chest several times, but maybe if I unleash it out into the big world wide web then that will be sufficient (at least until someone does it again). Here we go.

Why do people within families have to steal names for their baby that have already been taken? Now there are exceptions like naming the baby after a particular person who is close to you. But if that is not the case then there are several names that I think will be just as good. Now most girls have their kids names picked out from 2nd grade but you adjust. Especially when you belong to a family riddled with the double (even triple) use of names (some were married in but still...) I have long since wanted to call a daughter that I would have some day Jordan...now most of you know that this would not be to name after my brother. I just love that name for a girl. But since it is my brother's name I will relinquish that dream. But my cousin across the states decided to name her little boy Jordan and then her daughter Jennifer (another person already named that in our family). She was doing so well with her first three or four kids I can't keep track of how many she has. But I guess the more kids you have the more creativity you lose. Now its not just my cousins that do this but my aunts as well. We have two Kevins (actually three but he married in). Sorry to those whose brother is named Kevin. I know you can't imagine them being named anything else.

But just think of the confusion of all these double names causes. The people that you marry I can excuse. You can't just call someone they're first name...you gotta tack on the last to make sure everyone knows who you are talking about. So why add to the trouble by naming a kid something that we already have? I won't do it. I want to be original and I want my kid to have an original name. I don't really go in for the naming after people, maybe a middle name. So if people get to my names first then I have to rethink my choices. But the best route is just keep them secret until then. On a side note I am only slightly turned off by someone who has the same name as someone in my family. I don't think it would keep me from marrying them but I might have to come up with a nickname or something. But if I did, that would only make me even more determined not to copy names for my kids. And though my name is pretty, (just kididng) I'll be really upset if someone in my family takes it for their kids unless of course they want to name them after me but even then make it the middle name. Besides there are tons of Cassie's in the world, I don't need two in the same family. So just quit it all of you have committed this atrosity and those who are even thinking about it.

Okay I'm done. Whoo I feel better now. Love you all.
