Today I took my first ride in my new vehicle. It was really nice and quite comfortable. The seats are not as roomy as I would prefer but acceptable. It's white, with a little blue but sometimes can even be a dark blue, depends on the time. It's long and sleek yet quite a bit boxy, with an external navigation screen. It also increases health by relieving stress and road rage. Increase in intelligence is a possibility if you spend your drive reading and guess what, it's not dangerous at all be reading at the same time. It's actually quite common. It's quite the handy dandy thing.
Well, if you haven't guessed by now, my new transport is the bus. I decided to get a bus pass through my work because it is really cheap and I didn't dare drive my car to and from work everyday. My car is still drivable and I will drive it around town but just not in traffic. Molly is dying. I have come to terms with it, I think. I was in denial there for a while and even bargained for just a little more time but the end will come soon and so I ride the bus to give Molly the rest she needs for when I need her for my little jaunts around town.
So back to the bus. I do have to leave ten minutes earlier but it was fine. I got to read, though since I was getting used to my route I couldn't get too into the book for fear of missing my stop. I have one transfer which isn't too bad and I arrived to work on time. "Get to Work, Ready to Work" a slogan that Loralee picked up from some old UTA commercial. The UTA website is really helpful in mapping out the buses and times to take to get you where you want to go at the time you want to be there.
I hope that I keep this up. Even when the weather turns really bad, of course that should be even more incentive to not drive my car. My experience this morning was really good. I used to have to take the bus all the time when I was a freshman and I had some bad experiences but that was my fault. That is all behind me now. I'm really excited to be able to read a lot. My only sad thing is that I can't really go anywhere. If I need to run errands after work or something. But that is a minor detail because I don't do it all that often. I think this will be good.

...but if you need to run errands, you could just drive that one day out of the month or whatever, and that's not bad!
I think it's cool that you're riding the bus. It helps cut fuel use and hopefully cuts down on traffic.
You could be a poster child for UTA. Maybe there's some money in that. Are you sure Molly's dying or is it something that a $400 organ transplant could fix? Is Molley worth $400 on top of $800 + $900. I'd start looking at new cars but I think I want to hear some great bus stories.
You really could be the UTA poster child!
Well, Framed she needs a couple of organ transplants and I don't think she's worth it. I don't know if there will be any good bus stories. It's been pretty uneventful so far. I just get on read and get off. On my way home I take trax a little ways and then catch another bus. Pretty standard.
Oh on a funny note, Alyson called me and left a message because she had read the first line of my post thinking I had bought a new car but as the phone rang she kept reading and realized her mistake. I laughed out loud at that one.
I made the same mistake, but I didn't call you. I loved riding the bus and wish that Cedar had a better bus system so I could ride it instead of driving everywhere. Happy riding! :)
I think I would love to ride the bus if I could read or do my homework on the bus. Unfortunately, I get sick if I try to read in a moving vehicle.
