Okay, so I thought I might take a little break from the Europe trip. I'm thinking of just stopping altogether. Unless you all want me to keep going. But if not suffice it to say we had fun and there were ups and downs and whatnot. But let me know if you still want further detail.
Anyway, so last night I decided to change my own spark plug wires. I had recently had my car in the shop to replace all my fuel injectors and get a tuneup. The mechanic recommended that I replace the spark plug wires (the spark plugs got changed in the tuneup) which would be an additional $90. Put I had already paid $800 ....okay somebody paid.....okay my most generous mother paid $800 for everything else and they didn't make it sound like a big deal.
Well after a couple of days my car was still having some troubles that should have been fixed. I thought well maybe its the spark plug wires so I went and bought some after looking up online how hard it would be to change them. Actually, I was trying to find out what they did so I could perhaps asertain whether or not that would be the problem, but the search sent me to a site that showed how to change them and it looked easy.
After some advice from a friend, I thought I should take it back to the shop and see what they say before I do anything to the car. They said it was the wires so I picked it up ready to change them. On most cars this would be an easy job, but not on my car. Nooo not on Il Maledetto (the cursed, that's its name, Molly for short.) Not that I really call it that hardly ever. Most times when it gives me trouble I call it YOU STUPID @#^^$%^&* CAR!. Pardon my French. Just kidding. Like those words could ever escape my innocent lips. (: Anyway, in most cars all the spark plugs are together in one nice little spot, easily accessible. On mine some are in the front where you can see and the rest are in the back where you can't see and it is extremely hard to reach. Well, I was about to give up and just pay the $90. But I thought no. I can do it. I WILL do it.
Well, I didn't do it. Not really anyway because if a girl has her head stuck up under her hood looking at her engine then all men in a twelve block radius must come and help because she obviously doesn't know what she is doing. I needed help with one thing, which was undoing a clamp around the wire that my strength just couldn't budge. After that I would have been good to go but alas, it wasn't to be. My car was taken over and the spark plug wires got replaced (I held the light).
I was a little upset by this. I wanted to do it. I would have felt so empowered to know that I fixed something in my car. But it was taken away from me. I was so tempted to tell this nice person who was helping me to get lost but I didn't. And I secretly think he might have messed it up or he almost did. Whose to know? I will when my car dies. If I had done it, then it would have been my fault if something went wrong, of course it wouldn't have because I had a whole system in mind. Oh well, its done and the problem hasn't really gone away so I guess my car will go back to the shop this weekend. I just need to shoot it and put it out of its misery or put me out of mine.

Wow. I should try that technique. Have you ever been asked out from that experience? Were you wearing prodocative clothing of any sort, or were you in car-fixing scrubs?
That's so great that people are willing to help! (Even though, yes, it sucks when you're trying to figure it out yourself.)
Oh, and I was enjoying your tales of Europe, but if you're burned out of writing about it, that's fine.
Oh, Cardine, that's so funny. I remember feeling like I should be able to do everything myself but I've long since out-grown it. I remember that sense of accomplishment. It was nice but I don't crave it any more. I'm much more worried that your car is still acting up. What's the problem?
I'd like to hear more about Europe too. Maybe you can just hit the high points.
Oh when I'm at a stop light or just stopped for a little bit of time, sometimes it will stall on me and I will have to restart it. Though I think I have figured out that if I hit the gas really fast it won't stall. But I think I'll take it in again this weekend. Man I really don't want to. I take a different route to work now, that is less busy and less chance of me stopping as often so that helps.
Okay I'll keep on with the Europe stories.
First of all, when I clicked on your link from my blog, and the colors and everything were different, I though "I must have hit the wrong link", so I went back to my blog and clicked on your name again. (Wow, I love run-on sentances!) It's funny, because just the other day I thought that you hadn't changed your design for awhile so it was okay if I didn't change mine for awhile (great, you blew that for me!). Anyway, I like the new colors.
Also, I'm glad you're going to keep up with the Europe stories because you mention things that you didn't tell me when you were telling me about your trip. And, there are pictures I don't remember seeing. So, thanks for continuing.
My car was having the same problem and no mechanic ever figured out what was wrong. I hope that isn't your case. Good luck!!
Cassie, I hate to say it but my car does the same thing. Usually in the winter after it's been parked for a while. So annoying. I never was able to get it diagnosed either. Julie, is it your new car that was stalling?
I like the new look also.
Julie, I've never changed the look on either of my blogs. If you change yours then I may feel some pressure.
How come my blog is not listed as a link? I feel slighted.
Framed, fortunately it was my old car that had the problem, NOT my new car. I would cry a lot otherwise, that old car gave me lots of problems before it finally gave out. Also, don't worry, I probably won't change my look until December - you know, spiff it up for Christmas.
Framed You are listed. "Life's a Picture" and your book blog is on there as well.
I mainly just changed the look because I wanted to expand the width of my posts so they didn't look so long and narrow and so I had to pick a template that would allow me to do that. Otherwise, I wouldn't have cared.
I think it's something they did because once I start it goes fine it's only if I'm at a stoplight for extended period of time. Although today I just had to slow down and it quit on me even though I hadn't made it to a stop yet. It didn't do any of this before they worked on it so they are going to fix it.
I finally read you post, after meaning to read it for days now. I hope they can figure out what the problem is, and fix it.
I like the look of your blog as well. I hope no one feels like mine needs to be changed, because it probably won't happen.
Since our plans this weekend didn't work out, maybe tomorrow I'll take a break from studying and drive down to SLC to have lunch or dinner with you. What do you think?
You go, girl. (I've always wanted to say that)
