Oscar Predictions

Tomorrow night is the Academy Awards. I usually watch this every year. I love movies and I love to see celebrities that were in movies that I like. Usually I have seen most of the movies that up for nominations, but my life has been pretty busy lately and I haven't been able to get to as many movies I use too. So these predictions come from reviews I have read, what I think of the story, and who the actors are in them. Also, on who won at the Golden Globes because those tend to mirror the winners at the Oscars.

Best Picture: Letters from Iwo Jima
Best Actor: Forrest Whitaker, The Last King of Scotland
Best Actress: Helen Mirren, The Queen
Best Director: Clint Eastwood, Letters from Iwo Jima
Best Supporting Actor: Jackie Earle Haley, Little Children
Best Supporting Actress: Jennifer Hudson, Dreamgirls
Best Animated Feature: Cars
Art Direction: Pan's Labyrinth
Cinematography: The Illusionist
Costume Design: The Devil Wears Prada
Documentary: An Inconvenient Truth
Foreign Language Film: Pan's Labyrinth
Make-up: Pan's Labyrinth
Visual Effects: Pirates of the Carribean: Dead Man's Chest
Adapted Screenplay: Children of Men

I skipped some categories because I didn't really care or didn't know enough to decide. So I guess we'll see how my predictions turn out. I'll let you know on Monday.

I'm not watching the Oscars, the show is on right now, but I'm watching Van Helsing for the millionth time (it's on TBS). I'm interested in hearing who wins, though, and how you do on your predictions.

I made predictions, too. I created a group on the oscar.com site. Next year we should do it and see how each other do. Especially since I do it every year.

Looks like you got about seven right. Not too bad. So I really liked Kate Winslet's dress (she looks great in green)and the winner of the Jean Hersholt award (black and red, really cool). That's really why I watch: to see the dresses. How'd you like Ellen Degeneres?
