These are the shoes that I wear the most often. Mainly that since they are black, they go with pretty much everything and it takes a lot of the guessing game out of picking out an outfit. And the less amount of time it takes me to come up with an outfit, the more time I get to sleep or at least lie in my bed.
I bought these shoes during my trip to Cedar City for the Shakespeare Festival. My cousin Julie wanted to go in to Christensen's too look for some work shoes so I tagged along, mainly for the nostalgia of when we had our very own Christensen's in my little home town. I looked around to see what they had and as it was summer, the wedge was extremely popular and I just have never liked them so I figured my money was safe. Then I saw these. They were perfect and simple. The black shoes I was wearing for work at the time had this velvet covering with a pearl embellishment on the toes. I had grown tired of them and felt they looked a little too fancy/childish. Is that possible? I wanted something really basic. I first shied away from these because of the round toe. I love the pointy toed heels, so that's what I was in the market for, but I tried these on for kicks. After thinking it over, I decided these were perfect and my most expensive shoes ever, except for my tennis shoes.
They really have been perfect. I don't really remember a painful breaking-in period. We were a great fit from the start. Only one minor hiccup when the little platform on the heel came off, but nothing a little super glue couldn't fix. Also, I need to polish them up.
These shoes have almost got me thinking that maybe it would be worth it to pay a little more for shoes. I realize that in normal world standards what I paid for these shoes is looked at as cheap. They were $40. I have a hard time spending over $20, but that is pretty much on anything. I'll be heading down to Cedar City again this summer, so maybe I'll find another great pair of shoes, but hopefully not, I really don't need anymore (for now).

I'm loving the pictures of your feet/shoes! What a variety of shoes you have - impressive!
Christensen's is having a sale tomorrow and I'm going to go look at shoes. I'll think of you while I'm shopping.
Nothing like basic black. These are very cute.
I really like these shoes. Stylish and comfortable. Who could ask for more?
