A Splash of Lime
Another pair of shoes that I bought not knowing what the heck I would wear with them. I remember thinking, once I saw them, how fun it would be to have some green shoes. How fashion forward I would be. I still feel that way.
These shoes stayed in their box for a while, due to the lack of knowledge about matching yet not really matching rules (I still don't quite have it down, Loralee helped pick out my outfit for today). When they did make their public debut, I wore them to church. I drove, which doesn't happen very often, picking up a couple friends on the way. I knew I was low on gas and I even thought about stopping and getting some quick, but I was already running really late and I figured/hoped it would make it. Well, I ran out about five blocks from the nearest gas station (This does happen rather often). So I walked the five blocks with my two passengers complaining almost the entire way. They could have stayed at the car. So I'm hoofing it down the sidewalk in these shoes, not even close to being broken in. So it hurt. After getting the gas, I eventually just took them off and walked back barefoot. We got on our way and arrived even more late for church but it all worked out fine. I won't say that that was the first or last time that I have or will run out of gas. I hate getting gas, it's such a chore to me.
Not many of my shoes have made such a lasting impression on me on their first outing so these shoes are somewhat special. Also, they inspired a whole shopping spree last night, where I spent way too much money, but got some pretty cute clothes for spring and summer. Mom, don't you look at my bank account!
Okay, so I would say these shoes are evidence of my occasionally branching out and taking a chance on new and sometimes unknown experiences. Most often I tend to stay with the safe neutrals, but with these shoes I feel like I have a slight adventuresome side, even though I only bring it out every once in a while.

Very cute shoes! I'm enjoying the different ways you are taking pictures of your feet.
Also, isn't it more of a chore to have to walk two blocks to get gas rather than stopping when you get low? Just wondering.
Oh, and I meant to say that I would love to see the whole outfit. I have problems with the matching but not really matching rules as well.
I think my understanding of the rules is you can wear any color with anything as long as there is something that ties it all together. My shoes don't necessarily go with what I'm wearing except for the necklace I am wearing has that little bit of green in it.
Funny, but painful, story. Love the shoes, but I can't imagine walking in them. I'm with Alyson, I would 10 times rather suffer the pain of filling the tank than running out of gas and having to walk to the gas station. *v*
Well, I wasn't planning on it running out of gas. I was pretty sure I could make it. But like I said I have been plenty wrong before.
Never, never, never, never, let your tank go below one-quarter. It's that simple. Jeez.
So, cute shoes. I think I've seen them before. I thought the matching but not rule was that you matched the hues. So bright cool colors with these shoes, not pastels or warm colors. Does that make sense? I just wear black shoes every where. Boring but safe.
PS. Don't go in the overdraft.
