Seen on an evening stroll

The other night I went on walk around my neighborhood. I went down streets I had never been on before and some that I had driven on. I took my camera with me because I knew these streets would be interesting. I love walking around the area and seeing all the different houses. It made me sad to think of those people who buy the houses in the rising developments where all the houses look exactly the same, you have to go inside to gauge their personality. These houses had their own personality. Enjoy the pictures.

I love how roses just seem to grow automatically around here. I remember my mom trying to plant roses at our house and we just couldn't seem to get them to grow but they flourish here.

Aren't these trees sad?

I just think this house is cute. If the fence was painted white that would be the ultimate.

The old and the new.

Doesn't this look like a little doll house. I would love to come home to this.

The Lavendar House with the amazing yard. Someone has put a lot of work into this. The water feature makes the yard smaller but very interesting.

And it goes all down the side of the house with a little swing to sit in and read.

Such a nice street to walk on.

This house has a huge backyard that is pretty unkempt. But I like it. It gives it a country feel in the middle of the city.

For some reason I love to take pictures of running water. I don't know why. I'm just drawn to it.

This house wasn't anything special except that a uproarious laughter came out of it as I passed by.

I felt a little odd taking pictures of people's houses. That at any moment someone would come bursting out their front door and demand a reason why I was taking pictures of their house or yard. That never happened. There was this one house I wanted to take a picture of that was slightly a grey color and kind of run down and someone in the living room was watching a black and white movie. I thought it was cool but again I thought it might not be looked at kindly if I took a picture through someone's window.

I love photographing moving water, too. I love shots where the shutter speed was slow allowing it all to blur like these:

What a fun thing to do. It will be nice in years to come when you move to have these pictures. I hope you took one of your house, too.

I sometimes like the blurred water, but sometimes not.

I would really love to buy a house with personality. I really liked my house in Texas, but it was a house from a mold. Luckily the builders had enough molds and options (windows, roofstyles, brick color, floorplan, etc...) that every house didn't look the same (in fact most of them looked quite different), but I really want a completely unique house...someday.

My house is quite unique but not in a wonderful way. Oh well.
I've given up trying to grow roses but I still try to grow hollyhocks. Why won't mine grow tall and bloom like these??

Cassie...I love that you did this. What a great idea to just walk around with a camera and see what you come upon. Great pictures!
