Letter to my new nephew

Dear Lincoln,

So you finally arrived yesterday (sorry it had to be on a day associated with a national tragedy) at 5:30. We haven't met yet, but I am really looking forward to it today. I am your Aunt Cassie (and I think it would be fun if we did the correct pronunciation, you know where it rhymes with launch), soon to be know as your favorite aunt. I hope we get along as my experience with children hasn't been that great but I expect to spoil you as long as you don't cry or be annoying. Is it a deal?

I already can see us playing together when you get a little older and your parents let me babysit. Of course I will have to drive a little since you will move to Logan here shortly, but I'll do it for you. I am so excited to see you. Welcome to your life.

Love,

Aunt Cassie

Lincoln will be great! The crying annoying ones will be your own kids. :-)

Congratulations, Cassidus! I'm sure you are very excited now that you're an aunt. Well, you gave me baby news of your brother having one...well now I've got some for you: Kalli and Matt had their son Sunday. His name is Mattix. There you go. Now it's your turn to share some more baby news with me. ;)

So you want to go by aunt as they say it in the east?! I'll bet you're pretty excited about this new addition to your family. I'm excited, too. Can't wait to meet Lincoln. Does he have a middle name?

His middle name is Clark like Jordan's.

Wow, I actually didn't know that Diane was pregnant. That's exciting for them. And it's great that one of my high school best friends and I have been so horrible with staying in touch that I didn't know she was pregnant. But, that's how it goes I guess.

Congrats! I love being an aunt (said like the bug). It only gets better - trust me! The first time Lincoln says your name, your heart will melt. Good times, good times!

How is Stacy feeling? How was the delivery? Is Jordan way stoked? I bet your mom will be such a cute grandma!

Cassie, I'm so excited for you! Excited for your whole family too! How fun! I'm sure that Lincoln will love you. How could he not? You are the one that gets to spoil him, and say yes all the time. If he does get a little annoying all you have to do is give him back to his parents. You are going to love it!
