Grateful for Amazon.com
The book we are reading for February in my book club is the Great Gatsby. Though I have been utilizing my local library lately I decided this might be one to add to my personal library. I checked online to see how much it would be and it was less than $10. Not bad, but I thought even Barnes and Noble is slightly more I'll just buy it there so I have it. It was $14 for a less than two hundred page paperback. In hardback it was over $20. I was shocked so I bought the book on Amazon.com. I've bought many a book there. I love it. There are so many options and I've only had a problem once with a seller. Online shopping in general is such a great thing. I would much rather just order something than go to the store. Today my book arrived and it is in great condition. I'm excited to read it, just after I finish Tess of the D'ubervilles, which coincidentally will be our March book so I'm sort of already ahead. I've got to finish it in two days (will be a challenge) in order to maintain my goal of three books a month. Only a little over two hundred pages to go at my rate of speed of five pages a day might be tough. So may have to turn the t.v. off for a little while the next few days.

How are you liking Tess of the D'ubervilles? I read it just out of high school and didn't like it, tho I can't remember a thing about it now.
I love amazon.com, too. I just discovered there's a page called 'your media library' and it shows everything you've bought. Let me tell you, it was a shocker to see how many books, music, and video related items I've purchased. YIKES!
Yes, girl, turn off that TV and read. You can do it.
I didn't like Tess either.
But I love Amazon.com. I spend so much time and money there. I'll have to check out my media library if only for the shock value. I like seeing what recommendations amazon has for me. I've found some great books that way and other times I wonder where they made the connection between one book and the other. I know the computer is just trying to get me to buy more books but I like making snide remarks about some suggestions.
I'm liking Tess. They just showed a version of it on Masterpiece theatre a few weeks ago and I had seen another version many years ago so I thought I would read it. It's a pretty sad story and I already knows what happens so I'm prepared maybe that's why you didn't like it.
