Grateful for a home away from home

Sometimes it is so nice to just get away from the city and my own place and troubles. What better place than going home, my original home. I can't even express how nice it feels to go home and almost back to a simpler time when I just relax and my mom takes care of me. We don't usually do too much but I'm glad that we don't necessarily have plans. We just hang out and catch up. I watch some t.v. and she either reads or plays on the computer and then we take naps on the couches. Good times. It's totally our thing.

We also went to a movie, Marley and Me, which I wasn't all excited about but it turned out to be pretty good. The only problem was the brood of children sitting behind us, talking up a storm getting up and bumping mom's chair every fifteen minutes and parents not doing a thing. It was pretty aggravating. And I wouldn't call it a kids' movie, yes there is a cute, funny dog but other than that it deals with a lot of adult issues. There is not enough of the dog to make it a kids movie.

I even went to church with mom, which I do not normally do. I'm not sure why other than I just don't feel like I've done much with my life and would have nothing to talk about with the people who knew as I was growing up. Luckily, I didn't get into too many conversations with people other than why I was home. Can't a girl just visit her mother without a reason?

Anyway the weekend was really nice and peaceful. Mom even made some meals for me. Tuna fish sandwiches for lunch on Sunday and scrambled eggs and toast for breakfast today. So sweet. She takes such good care of me.

It's gonna be the longest three days of my life since I have to stay late at work every night to get all my stuff done by Friday.

You were home this weekend? I'm sure it's nice to come home and just hang out. Usually there is so much going on that it's not always relaxing. Always fun, tho.

Wow, what gourmet meals. Still, that's more than I usually do when it's just me at home. And I'm buying more eggs!!

What? You went to see Marley & Me? Wasn't that my suggestion when we tried to go see Benjamin Button? Oh well, that night turned out good anyway, and we didn't get to see either my choice or your choice, so I guess I will forgive you. :)
