So, like most people I have named my car even though I do think it is a silly thing to do and I don't call it that by any means to people. In fact its name is only used on rare occasions when the car upsets me, kind of like when your parents use your full name when they are lecturing you. But I will admit to talking to my car but again on rare occasions when it upsets me. I think once you name your car this kind of thing happens. For short my car's name is Molly. I know you think its cute but it is short for Il Maledetto, which is Italian (I was taking classes at the time) for The Cursed. Yes my car is cursed. It hates me. Some examples: Within a Five and half year period
Two car stereo's stolen out of it (with broken window)
The actual car has been stolen (I should have just let it go)
Nowadays multiple mechanical problems
Hit three times (the third of which happened last night)
I thought the curse was over. I thought we could be friends. Even with all of the mechanical problems lately I still wasn't too upset because she is getting old. But no, last night I realized it was back and in full swing.
Yes I was in an accident last night. It was raining. Light turned yellow (though the other driver said it was red. If it was then it just barely turned red when I was almost through the intersection.) He was turning left I was going straight. Says he didn't see me. Don't know how that is possible, my lights were on. No definite answer to whose fault it was because its basically his word against mine. So now I am probably stuck with another lovely dent addition to my car. The other one is from a the second hit which a girl backed into me and put it off that it was both of our faults. I don't want my insurance to go up (which I think is stupid that it should if the accident is not your fault) and who knows how the insurance company plans to handle it.
So Molly has become a white trash car. I feel so white trash driving it. But I'm going to drive it until it dies which probably won't be that long. It is ten years old.
I hate accidents because I am constantly playing the what if game. What if I hadn't gone to Walmart and taken my normal route home? What if I had stayed at Walmart a little longer. What if I had left work earlier or even later. A couple of minutes could have made all the difference. Its frustrating.

First of all, I'm glad you're okay. Secondly, I love the pink accents! Finally, I'm sooooo sad about your accident. I also think it's unfair that one's insurance goes up even if it's the other guy's fault. And, when you're feeling down, just think about how much better your car looks than the junkie Lumina (which I loved anyway) that I drove for years. It looked horrible!! (Side note: I get to see it everyday - my neighbors bought it!) Again, I'm glad you didn't get hurt.
I'm sorry about Molly (very cute & meaningful name), but I'm glad you weren't hurt. Sorry you had to have such a horrible experience. My fingers are crossed that the insurance co. will do the right thing -- there's always a first time.
Have you started thining what kind of car you're going to get after Molly finally dies?
BTW The pink looks great!
I, too, am loving the pink.
Wow, that really is an unfortunate situation.
For future reference, I'm pretty sure that if you are in the intersection at all while the light is yellow, you are supposed to clear out of the intersection, so if it was yellow at all while you were in it, you not only have the right of way, but you are SUPPOSED to clear the intersection. It also seems to me that a person turning left should be watching the traffic in spite of the color of the light. But maybe that's just me.
I am glad that you are okay. That really is the most important part of it.
Also, a lady backed into me after church last week. Fortunately, it was just like bumper cars, so there was no scratch.
Thanks for all of your nice comments. I'm glad that I'm okay too. The funny thing is also that it seems like the other guy whose fault it is never has any damage to his or her car as it was in this case and the previous one. I don't know yet if I'm reporting it to the insurance agency. Its really up to my mom since she pays for it. Yes I know I am totally spoiled. Everything still works properly as far as I can tell so it wouldn't be a big deal to leave it.
I don't really know what car I would get when this one dies. I've been eyeing convertible Volkswagon beetles (lime green) but I would never get one because they are too expensive and don't have enough truck space. I would love some kind of SUV too but with gas prices the way they are. I'm just thwarted everywhere I turn.
Oh and thanks about the colors too. Pink and Brown is my favorite combination of colors these days. I wear it probably about twice a week. And I have also now thrown lime green into the mix. All three go together really well. In case you were interested.
Nice. I would like to see a little lime green on your blog?
Did you mean you now wear brown/pink/green combinations, or that your blog now has green, too? Either way, looks good.
And, you may be spoiled, but you certainly are not rotten. In fact, I quite enjoy hanging out with you.
Add me to the pink fan club. Pink and brown are one of my favorite color combos as well, but as you can see from my blog, I add a light blue in with it occasionally. I will have to try lime green though, because it look really good on your blog.
Okay, now to the post. I'm really glad you are okay as well. Maybe you and I can go shopping for new cars together, someday. I'm hoping I will be able to get a new car soon because my car is 11 years old. It has quite a few dents as well, but they are all at least 8 years old. I only ever got one dent fixed; it was a dent in my front right fender, and it had to be fixed in order to make the passenger door openable again. I hope you don't have too much trouble with insurance if you decide to claim it.
I feel so guilty. I haven't called the insurance agent. Since there wasn't a ticket issued and the car is drivable, I probably won't call. I'm thinking I shoudl get a new car and you can have mine. Although it isn't going to last that long either especially if you insist on having other cars run into you. I'm assuming your headlight still works. By the was Jordan said Stacey liked Molly for a girl's name. I threw in the Molly Mormon comment but Il Maledetto is so much more effective. And then there was Grandma's favorite cat named Molly. I'm waiting to hear from you to see if you are coming home this weekend. Will Molly make it?
This has nothing to do with your post, but I wanted to tell you that I went and saw Inside Man this afternoon and really liked it! Clive is, of course, absolutely sexy. The plot was very intriguing. Unfortunately, the f-word was plentiful, but I still enjoyed the movie.
Julie thanks for the review. I'm gonna try to get Mom to go and see Inside Man this weekend with me when I go to Vernal and Aly, you can come too. Well, really anyone can come. The more the merrier.
Aly I have a surprise for you when I come too. So see its almost like I am coming to visit you as well as my mother.
Everyone check out the picture that is now on my blog
Oh and Mom I am totally all for you buying a new car and giving me yours. Even though it is a grandma car but I can overlook that for all of the power locks and windows and cruise control.
Sorry, but you blew it with the grandma car remark. I want my beloved "Bleu" to go to someone who will truly appreciate her. Besides I don't want it to end up looking like yours. Ouch, what a dent.
